It's not just a bed and breakfast ... it's not a hotel. "It's a lot like home, only better". Whitetail Wetlands Lodge is a longtime ago farmhouse that has been refurbished, elegantly refurnished and is now a place to rest, a place to eat, a place to laugh and talk. The lodge is the focal point of our beautiful wetlands, acres of impoundments, woods and fields dedicated to the ducks, geese, swans and other aquatic critters that venture through our area. We welcome you to sleep in a warm bed, begin your day with a mug of hot coffee and a walk around the wetlands. Whitetail deer, foxes and other furry creatures visit with frequency. You can spend some time here hobnobbing with exotic visitors from as far north as the Artic Circle, from as far south as the South American Continent. Waterfowl sightings - 72 species Raptors - 16 species Songbird sightings - over 100 species You'll be overwhelmed by the diversity.

Experience our wetlands in an open and up close fashion. Impoundment dikes are mowed and improved trails abound for your hiking pleasure. Photographers and nature observers love our photography blinds and woodland tree stands throughout the property.

LODGING INFO

All lodging packages include access to our wetlands and all trails plus the use of several common areas, including: Large view room and reference library which includes piano, TV, VCR, DVD Overview porch Covered decks and porches Picnic and primitive camping areas OUR MOST POPULAR RENTAL: Antique oak bedroom with queen size bed and private bath, an adjacent kitchenette, a charming bow window, sitting/TV room that can be converted to a sleep area for two additional persons on a sleep sofa, plus adjacent private shower and changing room. OTHER OPTIONS: Rooms may be rented separately with shared kitchenette privleges. Two bedrooms with a shared bath are available at our adjoining farmhouse. Extra persons can be accommodated with additioinal sleeping facilities in the view room if needed. Whole house rental is possible, which includes master kitchen, formal dining for ten, fireplaces and additional full bath with laundry facilities. Daily, weekly or monthly rates are available.

Terms of Occupancy: Check-in 3 p.m. for room availability, 10 a.m. for on site trails and common lower porch. Check out prior to noon. The room must be vacated at this time but common areas can be used beyond this deadline.

DINING INFO

The kitchenette is supplied with dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, pots and pans. It is furnished with new appliances, tables and chairs. Most guests have preferred to bring their own groceries and prepare their own meals according to their own schedule. On site meals are available on request with advance notice. We also can supply you with a list of off site restaurants for your dining pleasure.

"TRAIL USE ONLY" INFO

The wetlands and forest trails are available for daily use. Ground maintenance fees of $2.50 per day per person for hiking and photography. Fee of $5.00 per day, per person is charged for biking and horseback Self-care stabling for horses is available. Horse-drawn sleigh or hay-rides available.
