Similar to Buchanan State Forest above; Hunting for deer, turkey, grouse, squirrels, rabbits and black bear is a popular use of the forest during designated seasons. Other than a few safety zones around building and picnic areas, hunting is permitted throughout the forest.
Bedford County is in South Central PA along the PA Turnpike, Route 30 (Lincoln Highway), I-99 and I70.
