This family owned course has been open since 2000. This 18 hole course started out as a family farm and has grown into a beautiful layout. Its located 13 miles from the PA turnpike. There is the best of both worlds within this course.. The front 9 allows the golfer to experience hills and turns, as the back 9 gives the golfer an easier, flatter layout.. A practice green and driving range is also available.

Koon Lake and Lake Gordon are two small lakes in Cumberland Valley Township in Bedford County. With a combined 388 acres, they are owned by the Evitts Creek Water Company and supply water to the city of Cumberland, MD. Koon Lake (268 acres) and Lake Gordon (120 acres) are open to non-powered boats and kayaks as well as electric motor powered boats. Shore and pier fishing are also permitted. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Cumberland Maryland officials and local anglers, both Pennsylvania and Maryland, work together to provide this increased angling opportunity on Koon Lake and Gordon Lake.

We are nestled in a quiet, secluded, and easily accessible valley in Bedford, Pennsylvania. With 20 sites currently available, each site is equipped with electric, water, sewer, fire ring, and a picnic table. We have restrooms, but currently no showers. While camping here, enjoy the friendly atmosphere, walking paths, and our pond for catch and release fishing. We have bass, bluegill, carp, and catfish! Find us on facebook!

The highest knob, the sharpest ridgelines, and some of the most dramatic views on Mid State Trail await intrepid hikers in the Everett Region. Everett Region starts at a connection with trails of Green Ridge State Forest at the Maryland line, climbs the highest and wildest sections of Tussey Ridge, and ends at US 22 near Water Street.

Bedford County is home to many orchards that produce a variety of fruits. This bike loop takes you from downtown Bedford on a 26 mile ride where you will see the Bedford County countryside with the highlight being acres of orchards. For the ambitious rider, you can easily be connected to the Covered Bridge bike loop for an even longer ride.

Fitchner family legend says that either Jacob or Johnathon Fitchner built this bridge crossing Gladdens Run at Palo Alto in 1880 leading to its dual identity. A Privately owned multiple king-post bridge with horizontal clapboard siding on the lower 1/3rd, making it easy to see the king-post structure. Near Route 96 4 miles south of Hyndman in SW Bedford Count, It sits on stone and mortar abutments, with no steel reinforcing.

The Rainsburg / Colerain Township bike loop takes you through18.5 miles of scenic Friends Cove. The cove and the township are bordered on the east by Tussey Mountain and on the west by Evitts Mountain. Along the way, you will travel through the historic town of Rainsburg which has existed prior to Bedford County’s incorporation. For folks who want to ride a little extra, you can connect to the Koon Lake Bike Loop by taking Rainsburg Mountain Rd. for 2.4 miles.

The largest man-made lake in Pennsylvania and it’s at the northeastern edge of Bedford County and Huntingdon County. It has 110 miles of shoreline and 8,300 acres of water. The area surrounding the lake is undeveloped, offering beautiful scenery. The lake is created from the waters of the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River. Lost to fire in 2002, Bedford County Commissioners committed to rebuild this structure. The bridge was rebuilt and reopened to traffic in 2004. This covered bridge takes its name from the nearby town of Ryot, PA. It is a Burr Truss design, 83 1/2 feet long. The Ryot Bridge crosses Dunnings Creek between Route 96 and Route 56. County owned.

It rests on stone and mortar abutments. The Ryot Bridge is drivable.

This uniquely named bridge takes its name from Jacob Snooks. It is located near what was, years ago, Snook’s home. 82 feet in length, this is a Burr Truss design that was built in 1883. Spanning Dunnings Creek, it is found just off of Route 56, north of Fishertown, on Township Route 554.County owned.

The Snooks Bridge is open to traffic.

You’ll easily find this bridge, from Route 31 on the Somerset side of Manns Choice. It is an 89 foot Burr Truss bridge, with low side panels and open sides. Construction date is believed to be 1892 (approximately).

It spans the Raystown branch of the Juniata River. County owned.

It rests on stone abutments, reinforced with concrete. The Turner Bridge is drivable.

This creek winds through the Southwestern area of Bedford County. This freestone stream parallel’s much of Route 96. Large boulders and heavy currents in some areas can make this somewhat difficult to wade. We make note (below) of some good spots to try.

ACCESS: From Schellsburg, take Rt. 96 South toward Hyndman.

Enjoy our quintessential property complete with historic farmhouse, rambling stream, 1886 covered bridge and barn turned event venue, all within walking distance to Shawnee State Park. Woodhaven has three guest rooms boasting ensuite bathrooms, climate control and WiFi, a welcoming guest sitting room and dining room. Located only 15 minutes from historic downtown Bedford, Woodhaven is just the escape you’ve been looking for!

Bedford County’s premier limestone stream with 10 miles of stocked water. The upper meadow section, above Loysburg, resembles a classic limestone stream flowing through pastures where erosion and siltation can be a problem. From Loysburg downstream, Yellow Creek changes character as it loses elevation and flows through the Loysburg Gap where large boulders, deep pools and fast riffles produce large trout all season. A Delayed Harvest Fly Fishing Only Area can be accessed by turning off Route 36 onto SR 1024 (at the New Frontier Restaurant) and driving several miles to the second bridge. The special regulation area begins upstream where Maple Run enters Yellow Creek and continues upstream for 1 mile. Lower sections of the stream hold trout in the spring and summer.

We manufacture all our furniture directly in our warehouse, and resell from stores similar to ours.
